Lizzie Sabo, founder of Cooked from Scratch Cooking School, brings her passion for fresh, seasonal food to the heart of the Granite Belt. Known for her warm, hands-on approach to teaching, Lizzie creates relaxed and interactive culinary experiences that celebrate local produce and regional flavours.

At Cooked from Scratch, it is not just about following a recipe. Guests roll up their sleeves, learn practical kitchen skills and build confidence while preparing dishes inspired by the best ingredients our region has to offer. Each class ends the way all good food experiences should — gathered around the table, sharing the meal created together.

What makes Lizzie’s cooking school truly special is her deep connection to local growers and producers. Every dish tells a story of place, showcasing the flavours that make the Granite Belt unique.

Local apple farmer David McMahon will also be on hand to engage you with all things apple in the Granite Belt, sharing fun facts, such as how the sweetest apples are those that ripen right before the first frost.
